The bathrooms are compact but thoughtfully designed, with one of those rainfall showerheads that makes you wonder why more places don’t invest in simple upgrades like that.

What sets this place apart, honestly, is the staff’s genuine knowledge of the neighborhood. They’ll point you toward Šnekutis for the kind of traditional Lithuanian meal that locals actually eat, not the tourist-menu version, or suggest hitting up the weekend market at Kalvarijų – stuff you’d never find in guidebooks. The area itself has this perfect balance where you can grab excellent coffee at Double Coffee just down the street, wander over to the Literature Street installations when you need your Instagram fix, but then duck into one of those tiny bars where everyone’s speaking Lithuanian and the beer costs half what you’d pay near the cathedral. I noticed they’re particularly good about practical details too – they’ll actually call ahead to restaurants to check if English menus are available, or help you figure out the bus system to the airport without that slightly condescending tone you sometimes get.
