I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name Charming & Central City Escape – Close to Transport, I rolled my eyes a bit. I mean, that’s quite the mouthful, right? But after spending a few nights at this place on Šeimyniškių street in the Snipiškes district, I get why they went with the whole descriptive approach. It actually delivers on those promises.

The location is genuinely solid – you’re maybe a 10-minute walk from the central train station, and there are buses that’ll get you into Old Town in about 15 minutes. What I really appreciated was how quiet Šeimyniškių street is, especially considering you’re so close to everything. You know how some “centrally located” places turn out to be on some nightmare road with traffic all night? This isn’t that. The Snipiškes area has this nice residential feel during the evenings, though it does get a bit more business-y during the day since there are some office buildings around. The 8.9 rating makes sense once you settle in – it’s one of those places that just works without any major surprises or disappointments.

Here’s what actually impressed me: the little details that someone clearly thought through. The Wi-Fi is properly fast (I was working remotely, so this mattered), and there’s decent natural light in the rooms, which can be hit-or-miss in Vilnius depending on which direction you’re facing. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that stiff neck you sometimes get in budget places. Check-in was straightforward too – no weird complications or hidden fees that pop up at the last minute. It’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or anything fancy, but everything’s clean and functional. The shower pressure was actually better than some pricier hotels I’ve stayed at in the Baltics.

One thing worth mentioning – if you’re the type who needs to be right in the thick of Old Town’s cobblestoned action every single night, this might feel a bit removed. But honestly? After a day of wandering around Vilnius’s medieval streets and climbing up to Gediminas Castle, it was nice to come back somewhere that felt a bit more… normal, I guess. Plus, you’ll save some money compared to those boutique places right in the tourist zone, and a short bus ride really isn’t a big deal. The area has a couple of decent local spots for grabbing dinner too – nothing fancy, but the kind of places where you’ll see actual Vilnius residents eating, which I always take as a good sign.

  We had an amazing stay at this place! While the entrance to the building might look a little adventurous at first, the apartment itself is spotless and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a short stay. We didn’t miss a single thing and would absolutely recommend it.
  Just a little tip for future guests who might be as clueless as we were at the beginning: to open the building door, you have to press the numbers simultaneously. otherwise it won’t open 😂.

  Very cozy apartment on the first floor with a really good city location: walking distance to the centre (approx 15 minutes) in one direction, and just a few minutes to the local market with a lot of fresh fruits in another direction.
  Apartment is clean and has everything you might need. Host is kind and welcoming, responding time is super quick.
  It was a pleasure to stay there!
  
  What could be improved: Not something that host can control, but It can be pretty noisy in the evening due to a lot of drivers (both cars and motorcycles) tend to 'play' speed racing, as well as it seems there are a lot of ambulance or police car sirens. We were not that sensitive, so it was ok for us.
  On the day of our departure construction work suddenly started at the neighbour apartment, so we could barely hear each other.
  
  But otherwise it was a very pleasant stay, will definitely recommend this place!

  Really good location to the river and central old town. Nice size apartment and well resourced with kitchenware etc.
  
  What could be improved: The residents weren’t so nice to me and my children as we moved in and out of the apartment block, we were quiet. Also I wasn’t too keen with the blinds for the windows next to the bed, a lot of light came through from street lights and in the morning.
  Also the table was scary as it collapsed on my son as he put his hand on it. Had to lift it off him and fortunately he was okay.
