Bastion Apartment Old Town Overview

Look, I’ll be straight with you about Bastion Apartment Old Town – this place completely surprised me. When I first walked up Subačiaus gatvė (and yes, you’ll probably mangle that pronunciation like I did), I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another converted building in Vilnius’s cobblestone maze. But honestly? This turned out to be one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some kind of local code.

The thing about staying right in Old Town is that you’re literally living inside a UNESCO World Heritage site – I mean, there’s something pretty wild about making coffee in the morning while looking out at medieval architecture that’s been standing there since before Columbus sailed anywhere. The apartment itself has this perfect balance of old-world charm without feeling like you’re camping in a museum. The ceilings are high enough that you don’t feel cramped, and they’ve actually managed to fit modern amenities without destroying the character of the space. What really got me was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re basically in the heart of everything. Sure, you’ll hear some late-night chatter from people wandering back from the bars around Pilies Street, but it’s more atmospheric than annoying.

You know what nobody tells you about Vilnius Old Town? It’s incredibly walkable, but also surprisingly intimate once you get away from the main tourist drags. From this spot on Subačiaus, you can duck into Literatų Street (the one covered in literary quotes and artwork) in about three minutes, or wander over to that little courtyard behind St. Anne’s Church where locals actually hang out. The apartment puts you close enough to everything that matters – Cathedral Square, the quirky Užupis district, those amazing basement restaurants tucked into 14th-century cellars – but you’re not dealing with tour groups tramping past your window at 7 AM. I actually found myself using the apartment as a base to explore different neighborhoods each day, then coming back to decompress with a bottle of Lithuanian beer from the corner shop. The fact that this place scores a 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just genuinely comfortable and perfectly positioned for anyone who wants to experience Vilnius like they actually live there for a few days.

Hotels near me in Vilnius offer convenient access to the historic center, where guests can easily walk to Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Castle, and the famous Gate of Dawn.

Reviews of Bastion Apartment Old Town

  • Great value for money, cozy and central! – Despina from Greece – July 13, 2025 (9/10)

Great apartment, clean and cozy and in a very central location!

What could be improved: Could have some more amenities, like a coffee machine and cooking utilities. Also, be aware that the entrance is through a dark passage (but there are automated lights during the night).

  • A perfect stay in the Vilnius Old Town – Elena from Belarus – June 17, 2025 (9/10)

Charming and comfortable apartment in the Old Town. Top location. The apartment is on the 1st floor, so no problems with carrying your luggage upstairs. Everything you need for a stay is provided (towels, shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner, hairdryer). The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking (frying oil, salt, pepper, tea and ground coffee). The host is very polite and always available if you have any questions.

What could be improved: I would add a kitchen towel (not paper ones), to make cooking even more comfortable:)
Definitely would stay at this apartment again!

  • Fantastic Apartment in the heart of the Vilnius Old Town, Exceptional and Highly Recommend! – Matthew from Australia – March 30, 2025 (10/10)

Fantastic apartment located in a perfect position in the heart of the Vilnius Old Town. The apartment was modern, clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities needed for a short or long stay. Our host Robertas was excellent and responded quickly to any queries we may of had. We actually wanted to stay longer but they had already booked out over the weekend which is a great sign. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Very nice place. Super clean, has everything that we needed.

  • Wonderful – Anna from Poland – July 16, 2025 (9/10)

the location was good, the bathroom was well-equipped (toilet paper, shower gel, shampoo) there was a cupboard with food like pasta, coffee, cereal. There was a big table so you could eat comfortably and play board games. The crockery was pretty and new.

What could be improved: It could be more comfortable for two people, for four it's a little bit too small. there was no iron, and the sheet wasn't big enough for the sofa which made it uncomfortable to sleep.
