Baltazaras Overview
I’ll be honest – Baltazaras isn’t going to blow you away at first glance, but there’s something oddly charming about this little three-star spot that grows on you. When I walked into the lobby, my first thought was “well, this is… cozy,” which is travel-speak for smaller than expected, but actually, it worked in the hotel’s favor. There’s none of that sterile, could-be-anywhere feeling you get with bigger chains.
The rooms are what you’d expect for a mid-range place – clean, functional, with that particular European hotel aesthetic where everything’s just a touch more compact than American travelers might be used to. I mean, the bathroom was snug enough that I had to do a little dance around my suitcase, but the shower had decent pressure and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. You know what I appreciated? The windows actually opened properly – seems like such a small thing until you’re in a place where you can’t get fresh air. The Wi-Fi was reliable too, which honestly matters more than fancy pillows when you’re trying to stay connected.
What really made this place work for me was the staff – they seemed genuinely interested in helping rather than just going through the motions. The guy at reception (I think his name was Mindaugas) actually drew me a little map showing which tram stops to use and warned me about construction on one of the main streets. That’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t get from Google Maps. The location itself is pretty solid – you’re not right in the thick of tourist central, which means you’ll actually sleep at night, but it’s still walkable to most things you’d want to see. I found a great little bakery just around the corner that definitely wasn’t catering to tourists, if you know what I mean – the kind of place where pointing at pastries works better than trying to pronounce Lithuanian words.
Look, I’m not going to pretend this is luxury travel – the décor is a bit dated and you might hear your neighbors if they’re particularly enthusiastic about something. But for the price point, it delivers on the basics really well. The breakfast was better than I expected (proper coffee, not that watery hotel stuff), and check-in was smooth even though I arrived way earlier than I was supposed to. If you’re the type of traveler who needs everything to be Instagram-perfect, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a clean, comfortable base that doesn’t eat up your entire budget and gives you a taste of staying somewhere that feels authentically local rather than internationally generic – well, Baltazaras does that job quite nicely.
Early hotels booking in Vilnius requires advance planning during peak cultural seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s magnificent baroque architecture and vibrant arts scene.

Reviews of Baltazaras
Oskars from Latvia (7/10)
Room was much bigger than I expected and looked quite fancy. The view through the window was a pine forest. Breakfast was a sandwich in the refrigerator and an apple. Did not try those as I had my own with me.
Lavinia from Romania (7/10)
Old furniture and an odd smell in the room, but it was ok for a one night transit. Breakfast was unsatisfactory, a few sandwiches and apples bought from the market…

The mattress is comfortable for sleeping. Part of the room with the bed can be closed with separate glass doors. In the morning you can enjoy outside the park and the feel of fresh air. Breakfast – a small snack, which is brought to your room. In the shower, you can turn on different modes. Wifi worked without problems.
