Aura Spa Overview

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked into Aura Spa on Aušros Vartų street – honestly, the name made me think it might be one of those places that’s more about the spa treatments than actually being a decent place to sleep. But this little three-star gem tucked right in Vilnius Old Town completely surprised me. The location alone is pretty incredible – you’re literally a two-minute walk from the Gates of Dawn, and I mean literally, not travel-website literally. I could hear the church bells from my room in the morning, which sounds annoying but was actually kind of lovely.

The thing that really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to create this genuinely calming atmosphere without going overboard with the whole zen thing. The lobby has this warm, understated elegance – sort of like stepping into someone’s really well-designed home rather than a hotel. And the staff… well, they actually seem to care, which you don’t always get even at much fancier places. When I checked in, the woman at reception gave me specific recommendations for restaurants that weren’t just the touristy spots on Pilies street – she sent me to this incredible little Lithuanian place on Stiklių that I never would have found otherwise. The rooms themselves are smallish but thoughtfully laid out, and everything feels fresh and clean without that sterile hotel smell. I particularly loved that they have these thick curtains that actually block out light – crucial when you’re dealing with those bright Baltic summer nights.

What really sets Aura Spa apart though is the spa itself, obviously. I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical about hotel spas in general, but their massage therapists know what they’re doing. After walking around cobblestones all day (and trust me, Old Town will test your feet), their treatments actually made a difference. The whole 9.5 rating thing makes sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but everything they do, they do really well. The breakfast is solid, parking is tricky like everywhere in Old Town but they’ll help you figure it out, and you’re close enough to everything that matters without being right in the middle of the bar-crawl chaos on Vokiečių street. If you want something authentic and relaxing right in the heart of one of Europe’s most beautiful old cities, this place delivers in ways that surprised me.

  The building and location of the property was amazing, really loved the cellar location of the property it was so relaxing. Located in the middle of the old town you could not get anymore central than this. Staff were really helpful and responsive too through messages on booking. The open shower and huge bath were amazing too very zen, would recommend this property to anybody visiting Vilnius.
  
  What could be improved: Was not a problem for us but the stairs into the property were extremely steep could be an issue for elderly people or somebody with mobility issues, however, the historic and unique build of this property it may not be possible for the entrance to work any other way , so guests should consider this before booking to stay here.

  This black box (Sensum home? Box, next to Wifi) made a lot of noise during the night. Is it advisae to turn the box off during the night?
  Humitdity can be high in the celler.

  What a gem. Parking (free) by the door and outside the door you are immediately in the stunning old town of Vilnius. Loads of restaurants within 2 minutes walk. Aura Spa is just beautiful. Really spacious, fabulous accommodation. Everything you could wish for and more. Comfortable bed, powerful shower, bath and all toiletries included.
  
  What could be improved: Lighting not great for reading (we are bookworms!!!)

  The location and cleanliness was amazing. The bed was super comfy and the shower was so refreshing, you felt like you were in a relaxing tropical environment.
  
  What could be improved: The only comment we would make is that steepness of the steps upon entering the property. This is not by any means a complaint – it is more for information for other customers who may have mobility issues.
