I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Art Boutique I Old Town Apartments w-AC I cohost on Sodų street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, and you know how these boutique places can sometimes oversell themselves. But stepping inside? Yeah, this one actually gets it right.

The thing about staying right in Vilnius Old Town is that you’re basically living in a UNESCO World Heritage site, which sounds fancy but can also mean cramped medieval streets and buildings that feel like they’re held together with good intentions. This place manages to thread that needle perfectly – you get all the character of being in the heart of the old city (I mean, you can practically touch the cobblestones from your window), but someone clearly put real thought into making it actually livable for modern humans. The AC was honestly a lifesaver when I visited in July – and trust me, that’s not something you can take for granted in these historic buildings.

What really sold me was how the owners – or cohosts, as they call themselves – seem to understand what travelers actually need versus what looks good in photos. Sure, there are artistic touches throughout that justify the “art boutique” part of the name, but they didn’t sacrifice functionality for style. The kitchen setup actually works if you want to grab some fresh bread from the morning market on Pilies street (which is maybe a three-minute walk, by the way). I loved that I could wander over to Cathedral Square for my morning coffee, then come back and actually have space to spread out my stuff without feeling like I’m living in a museum display.

The location is sort of perfect if you think about it – Sodų street keeps you just slightly off the main tourist drag, so you’re not dealing with the crowds that pack Pilies or Aušros Vartų streets, but you’re still close enough that everything worth seeing is walkable. I could hear the distant hum of the old town’s nightlife, but it never kept me awake. And honestly, having that 9.1 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s those little details that add up, like actually having decent water pressure and windows that properly open to let in that cool evening air that drifts through the old town after sunset.

  We loved the convenient location. Close to the station for buses and trains. Walking distance to the night life locations of Old Town. Quiet and peaceful in the property. Exactly as featured in photos. All the necessary utilities for self-catering were there and in good working order. Instructions were very clear in words and photos.

  Great location a couple of minutes from the train and bus stations and 10 to the old town, but through an interesting neighbourhood. Clean and new. Small bathroom but good shower. Washing machine was great to have. Not a huge amount of kitchen equipment but manageable. Quiet overnight.

  Really nicely decorated and equipped with all the basics you may need. Has air con which was great. Easy check-in and check-out, no issues at all. Close to everything we were there for.

  I had a wonderful stay at this apartment. Large and very comfortable bed, all necessities provided, coffee maker with some good coffee, tasteful and quality decor. Perfect location, very quiet (windows facing the inner yard) close to shops and restaurants, bus station and public transport, and basically in the old town. Couldn’t fault anything and would stay again. A big thank you to the hosts.

  Very good looking apartment, has everything you might need, including kitchenware and washing machine. Plenty of storage space, comfy bed, thoughtful lighting. The bathroom is on the smaller side but still pretty convenient.
  Location is very good, just a couple minutes from main train station or bus station. And city center is also quite close, ~15-20 minutes walk. A lot of cafes in the neighborhood.
  The communication with staff was pleasant, we were given great detailed self check-in instructions, and didn't have any issues in the process.
  
  What could be improved: Not a big issue, but I was really missing some sort of shelf for toiletteries in the shower.
