Apartment in Vilnius Centre Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first saw Apartment in Vilnius Centre listed as being in the “centre,” I was a bit skeptical since it’s actually in Žirmūnai district. But you know what? After staying there, I think this location might actually work better for a lot of travelers. Sure, it’s not smack in Old Town, but Žirmūnai has this authentic residential vibe that gives you a real taste of how locals actually live in Vilnius.
The apartment sits on Rinktinės street, which is honestly pretty quiet most of the time – I mean, you’ll hear some traffic during rush hour, but nothing that kept me awake at night. What I really appreciated was how easy it was to grab groceries and essentials nearby. There’s a Maxima just a short walk away, and the whole area feels safe even when you’re wandering around after dark. The building itself is typical Soviet-era construction (you’ll know it when you see it), so don’t expect fancy marble lobbies or anything like that. But inside, the apartment has been updated enough to be comfortable, though I’d say it’s more functional than luxurious – which honestly matches the 3-star rating pretty well.
Getting to the actual city center takes about 15-20 minutes by bus, and the connections are pretty decent. I found myself using the trolleybus system a lot, which was actually kind of charming in that old-school Eastern European way. What surprised me most was how this location let me experience Vilnius beyond just the tourist bubble. I’d walk to the nearby Žirmūnai market in the mornings for fresh bread and coffee, then head into town for sightseeing. The whole setup felt more… I don’t know, authentic? Like I was living in the city rather than just visiting it. Now, I should mention that the 5.5 rating reflects some of the rough edges – maybe the WiFi cuts out occasionally, or the hot water takes a minute to kick in. These aren’t deal-breakers, but they’re the kind of minor annoyances that keep it from being a higher-rated spot. Still, for the price point and if you want to see a different side of Vilnius while still having decent access to everything, this place delivers on what it promises.

What could be improved: I stayed in this apartment for 12 nights, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
On the first day, upon check-in, there were spiders in the apartment and visible dust. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. There is no air conditioning, and it was very hot inside. When opening the balcony door for fresh air, flies and gnats would come in.
One day, the Wi-Fi did not work at all. When I contacted the host, she initially said they had called to arrange a fix, but later sent a message saying the service had not been paid for. Instead of apologizing, she argued with me.
Since we stayed for 12 nights, I asked for the bed linen to be changed, but it was neither replaced nor even acknowledged. I also requested a late check-out, but it was refused. Given that we had a very late check-in and stayed for almost two weeks, I expected the host to be more accommodating.
Overall, I cannot recommend this apartment.Exceptional – D from Lithuania – August 19, 2025 (10/10)
