Angel House Vilnius, 6 Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Angel House Vilnius, 6 on Užupio gatvė, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a 3-star place in such a prime spot. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Vilnia River and right in the heart of Užupis, that quirky artist republic that declares itself independent every April Fool’s Day. But here’s the thing – sometimes the best discoveries are the ones that surprise you, and this little gem absolutely did.
The location is honestly unbeatable if you want to experience the real soul of Vilnius. You know how some hotels claim they’re in the “historic district” but you still need a taxi to get anywhere interesting? Not here. You can roll out of bed and grab coffee at one of those tiny cafés where locals actually hang out, then wander across the bridge into the main Old Town in about five minutes. The cobblestone streets can be a bit tricky with wheeled luggage (learned that the hard way), but there’s something magical about hearing your footsteps echo off these medieval walls at night. The staff actually knows the neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this little courtyard gallery I never would’ve found otherwise, tucked behind what looks like just another residential building.
What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between authentic character and modern comfort. The rooms aren’t huge – this is a historic building after all – but they’ve been thoughtfully updated without losing that old European charm. The beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many “charming” places skimp on mattresses), and the bathrooms are surprisingly well-appointed for a 3-star property. I stayed during late spring when the windows were open, and you could hear the gentle buzz of conversations from the street-side terraces mixed with church bells from across the river. It’s the kind of soundtrack that makes you remember why you travel. The 9.1 rating makes total sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it absolutely nails what it is trying to be. Honestly, I’d choose this over some sterile chain hotel any day, especially at this price point and in this neighborhood where you’re surrounded by art studios, cozy wine bars, and those wonderfully eccentric Užupis Republic constitution plaques posted on the walls in dozens of languages.

Comfortable and well located.
Perfect – Percier from Lithuania – June 17, 2024 (10/10)
Spacious and confortable flat, very-well equipped, quiet, a very good location in old town. There is a little shop nearby. The instructions for keys are very clear and Kristina had some ideas for restaurant. I highly recommend it.
What could be improved: There is a staircase to access the flat, which is not very regular.Wonderful – Corinna from Germany – May 30, 2023 (9/10)
Perfect location, very nice and Cosy apartment in an old building in the artist quarter. You reach all in the old town in 15 min.
Excellent little apartment – Romanas from United Kingdom – April 30, 2023 (10/10)
Excellent location, right in the centre of Užupis. Very cozy place in an old house. Well stocked with everything you need (including a washing machine). Superb wifi.
What could be improved: The sofa bed has seen some better days. The windows are all into the internal courtyard so natural light is limited.Very Good – Anna from Poland – March 4, 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: no internet connection
Cosy and lovely place. perfect for single or couples. Definitely recommend, we will come back here 🙂 – Aga from Poland – September 11, 2022 (10/10)

Very Good – Pierpaolo from Italy – June 26, 2025 (8/10)
Location was amazing
What could be improved: The sofa-bed, even though it wasn’t uncomfortable, a proper queen side bed would have been much betterAll good, nice simple apartment. – Rybner from Estonia – October 10, 2024 (8/10)
It looks a bit dodgy to get to the property, but it is actually really nice and normal, a family with kids lives in front.
What could be improved: The matress is quite worn out, and the boiler is very noisy. But it was all good. No serious complaints.Wonderful – Polina from Belarus – June 22, 2023 (9/10)
a very nice cozy apartment with its own spirit and flavour of 'old' Vilnius times, just step down and you are in the heart of Uzupis, with 100s of restaurants and bars, and tourist attractions around. Very good easy to reach and helpful host.
What could be improved: 3d floor without lift, which creates a lot of problems in my case traveling with a person with limited mobility. It was not mentioned in the booking.com site when I ordered the apartment. Sofa is difficult to use as a sleeping place.
